I cannot believe that our little baby is two months old today (well in a couple hours anyway... I do not want to rush it). At times it seems as though this has been the longest two months of our lives and at other times it seems as though it is flying by. Its hard to believe that you can love a little baby so much. Sometimes I just want to gobble her up but then no one else would get to enjoy her and that wouldnt be fair.
Makayla you are about 9 1/2 pounds and 20.5 inches long. You are in the 21st and 4th percentiles respectively. We are not worried about you being short though since mommy and daddy are both tall!
Your hair is dark with red tones... sometimes it looks really red in the sunlight but still maintains its dark luster for the most part. Your eyebrows are definitely red so we will see what happens. But for now your hair is a perfect combination of mommy and daddy.
Your eyes are still blue, although some days depending on what you are wearing they look a little more green. You have beautiful eyes and they capture mommy and daddys heart everytime, you may be able to use that to your advantage when you are older.
You love to cuddle! You want to know everything that is going on around you yet sometimes you like to hang by yourself too.
You are holding your head up pretty well and you love to stand while mommy and daddy hold you. I had a dream last night that you started crawling. That might just be the end of us if you started crawling at 2 months. Please wait to do that for just a little while longer :)
You eat about every 3-4 hours, sometimes you like to snack in between. You are eating anywhere from 2-5 oz a feeding and it does not seem to be consistent just whatever you feel satisfied with at the time.
You have really grown to love your swing the past couple of weeks and love looking at the mobile that spins above you. Your favorite toy right now seems to be your elephant that Auntie Ashley got for you. Your elephant has crinkly ears and you smile when we play with them. We hang him in your activity gym and you love to kick the rattles on his feet.
You seem to go down for the night between 7:30 and 8. You are staying asleep until anywhere from 1 - 3 am. You have made it to 4 am once this week. Thats usually the longest stretch at night and then from that point you sleep in 3 1/2 - 4 hour intervals and we are usually up 7:30-8 in the morning.
In the mornings you love to listen to music and just hand out. Your favorites right now seems to be Fleetwood Mac and Incubus. You love the guitars in Incubus and shake your hands wildly when you hear them. Your daddy and I hope that you love music when you grow up as much as we do.
You smile.... A LOT. and we love love love it! You seem to be more responsive when we are talking to you and you will often coo back at us or just give us a BIG grin. You have started to recognize mommy and daddy by our voices and you smile when you realize who it is. Your smile is a priceless gift from God. It is beautiful, never hide it from anyone!
Mommy and Daddy love you little lady! Now go on and keep growing, just not tooooo fast.
